June 24, 2013FiveCore Media recently received three Bronze Telly Awards as well as an Award for Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association for videos produced during FiveCore’s first year of operation. Both the Telly Awards and the Broadcast Education Association are nationwide competitions and we are honored to have the hard work of our student staff recognized by these great professional organizations.
“We are thrilled and humbled to receive this amount of national attention in our first year of operation. The gratifying part for me, along with any educator, is to see your students succeed. FiveCore is an education initiative through the Goshen College Communication Department and it is special for our student staff’s work to compete for national professional awards,” said General Manager, Kyle Hufford.
FiveCore Media received an Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association for our video “Goshen College Theater Department: Take 1” produced in the spring of 2012. The annual BEA festival awards student and faculty work both individually and collaboratively and receives approximately 1,000 submissions for 15 competitions each year. FiveCore’s General Manger, Kyle Hufford, will travel to the annual BEA Festival in Las Vegas, NV to accept the award as well as attend the National Association of Broadcasting conference that coincides with BEA.
In addition to the BEA Award for Excellence, FiveCore Media received Bronze Telly Awards for three videos: “What is Informatics?,” “Goshen College Theater Department: Take 1,” and “Powerful Assessment, Personalized Learning.” The Telly Awards is a national competition designed to recognize the best local and regional commercials, video, film productions and work created for the web from professional advertising companies. The Telly Awards are especially exciting for FiveCore Media, as videos produced by the FiveCore student staff are recognized for their excellence amongst videos created by industry professionals.
“These are accolades our graduates will be able to put on their resume and be heads and shoulders above their peers when competing for jobs. FiveCore Media’s mission is to create effective professional videos for our clients and we expect our students in our program to deliver this with the mentoring of our faculty. So I am very pleased and excited that our efforts to educated and produce quality videos was recognized by this national organization.”
